Mama Flores was born in Northern New Mexico in a small rual area known as Guadalupita, her mother had died when she was but a young girl, and was raised by her father. She married a wonderful man named Nash Flores, but he an alcoholic and she became an alcoholic herself, until both of them "hit bottom" stopped drinking, became educated about Alcoholics Anonimous togather with the help of a preacher named Mr. Plaggie they founded and opened The Plaggie Alcoholic Center in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Mama Flores broke the traditional silent subsevient role of woman in her days and ran The Sameritan Home a special place for the homless. She aiding runaways, victims of domestic violence, and counsed countless addicts and alcoholics. Mama Flores inspired hope to many including myself. Retired many years because of failing health, Mama Flores passed away Febuary 15, 2002, and is sorely missed by the many she touched.
