Artist Statement

Born in 1962. I started riding horses at 4 years old, and found myself
desperately wanting to be one, this desire motivated me to enter
the equine relm through drawing.

Raised in California, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, and New Mexico,
the diverse cultures of these regions affected my general out look of the
world. My artistic expressions began to transform from pretty horse
pictures to starving dogs, the poverty stricken, and sports involving death
to animals, and discovered that by exposing the injustices of others
through art, that it gave me a voice, that echoed forbidden cries.

Today, many years later my art work still carries an undertone, a thread of
outcry that is designed to prompt the viewer to examine the necrotic tissue
of past or present injustices. For it's my vision that only combined minds
can together find solutions that can heal nations, to put an end to all
forms of abuse on peoples, animals, and the environment.

On Healing
As a survivor of abuse, having a mentally ill parent, kidnapped by stranger,
being a teen runaway throwaway, domestic violence, and rape, the after
effects was crippling to my mind, heart, and soul. My healing began when I
through consistent prayer grasped the concept that I was guilty of sin, needed
forgiveness, and accepted the humble unconditional love of Jesus. This
experience taught me that I was lovable regardless of my own views, that was
the first step, then l gained incredible support from other survivors, and later on
went to therapy. If your are a survivor too, below are some links, that I hope
will aid you on your journey towards healing.
