On a Vast Plain
On a Vast Plain dotted with piñon
trees
old broken pottery hides in the dust,
giving way to boundaries imposed long past,
until the time of the whispering winds,
and the clouds of rain,
did the decay,
and pieces of my life,
form a pot of clay.

A GOOD WOMAN
A good woman
does what he says.
A good woman does what he wants.
A good woman accepts all of his criticism.
A good woman doesn't talk back.
A good woman accepts his punches.
A good woman hides the bruises.
A good woman is a good victim.
Silenced victims covered in shame
dare not speak
devastate a family name.
instead bearing the burden than, to bring porn to fame.
For who would believe
she must have liked it
they say.
I didn't hear her scream.
Neither did I.
Her body bears no scars, it must be a lie.
Like empty raindrops that fall and evaporate
so is the judicial magistrate.
While he is out in eight
she embraces a life sentence of hate...

While the shocking unfolding
events of Sept. 11, 2001
stunned the media and the world,
thin crisp pure clouds of a morning sky
embraced intense fire and smoke of hate.
And within
the unseen world...
Angelic hosts ran to and fro
helping thousands of confused souls
merge towards a place called heaven,
aided by selfless Fire Fighter,
Police and EMS workers,
with wings of gold.
Whist a
survivor,
stunned and dazed
looks away
as if in a haze.
But then by grace
there came a break,
America! America!
God Shed His Light On Thee!
She turned,
and in an instant
the tears dried from her eyes
and thought...
Perhaps some how and
somewhere
beyond the vision of darkness
the unlearned
ignorant
will understand
that life is more precious than death,
and that love is more powerful than hate.

Angels Whisper
Angels Whisper
in the cold of the night
where is your light that you may see
He is long deceased I say
but betray not his love to love another
broken dreams and forgotten promises
are all that's left...
Angels whisper
in the cold of the night
where is your light that you may see
he is right in front of me
but I am too blind to see.
