Melissa is a native New Yorker who transplanted to Santa Fe to enjoy
a different quality of life and explore her creative side. She arrived in
the City Different 8 days before September 11, 2001. As for many,
the events ofthat day resulted in Melissa experiencing a very different
quality of lifeindeed. The crystal-clear understanding that "THIS IS IT"
caused Melissa tobegin exploring and voicing her creative side, which
was a brand new way tobe.One trip to a fabric shop brought this
creative side to light. A lover ofhandbags, furniture and textiles, Melissa
wanted to "make things" thatexpressed these passions. She taught herself
to sew and hasn't stoppedsince. Believing that women carry their lives in
their handbags, Melissadesigns bags that are functional, practical and
beautiful. She has alsobegun carrying those design premises into a home
furnishings line.Melissa is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology
in NYC. Whennot designing, she is a Sales Executive and Yoga instructor.
