Neo Fernandez is a realist landscape painter as well
as an illustrator who loves to use his canvas as a
stage on which people perform actual or imaginary
events.  He is also a very successful portrait painter,
having completed several family member portraits.
He is self-taught in oil painting after retiring from
thirty years as an architect. His architectural back-
ground has given him a keen sense of color, value,
and perspective.

With only three years in oil painting, he received the
2001 New Mexico State Fair Hispanic Fine Arts Blue
Ribbon Award for his Call to Arms-1917. His work
can be viewed at the Albuquerque Old Town Plaza.
