Collective Artists of Santa Fe: Taking Art Up by the Bootstraps
This is not your typical art show, and these are not your typical artists. Collective Artists of Santa Fe is a diverse group of artists with a vision to be different. By different theyre not just referring to what they do, but also how they do it. Going directly to the public so that great art can still be affordable, these innovative artists decided to take art up by the bootstraps and organize their own show. Several of the artists have work displayed in galleries, however, this show will help to establish a rapport directly with the buyer. Through the power of creative collaboration, these artists want their work to become a living, integral part of this relationship.
How is their work different? When is the last time you saw graffiti art in the same show with exquisite digital Thangka paintings? Between these extremes of the group lies an interesting mix of edgy pottery, painted glassware, nature photography, surreal pastel landscapes, digital visionary paintings, contemporary jewelry, and funky one-of-a kind hand-sewn accessories, among many other treasures. Top it off with art demonstrations, live music and the opportunity to speak one-on-one with these eclectic artists, and you have yourself a very different show, which is so very fitting for the City Different.
Make sure to catch this one-day show on Saturday, October 18, 2003 from 12-6 p.m. at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe, 1615-B Paso de Peralta.
